  • As soon as Hitler took power, the family realized that tragedy was imminent; however, they didn’t expect it to be worse than World War I
  • Participated in the family business
  • When older married brother was called to be sent to a concentration camp, another brother volunteered to go in his place, so that the older brother could remain with his wife and child
  • The local community became very accustomed to anti-Semitism
  • Entire family perished; four siblings sent to Treblinka (Sol received a note from them telling him that they were going to die); he never knew the exact fate of his father
