POLAND / GERMANY / - SURVIVED AS A REFUGEE STUDENT IN THE U.K.

Born 1924, in Stanislawow, Poland.

Family moved to Germany in 1926.

 Father decorated WWI veteran.

Herb witnessed and survived the Kristallnacht pogrom in Germany, in 1938.

As a student he managed to find refuge in the UK.

Eventually, he joined the British Royal Navy.

Came to Canada in 1947.
