- BELGIUM - SURVIVED IN HIDING.

Born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1936. 

1936-1942, normal warm family life with parents Kiva and Liba Jacubowicz and younger sister Rosie.

 1942- father deported.  Mother and two daughters went into hiding. 

Later the Gestapo came and arrested Anne's mother.

Anne and sister Rosie remained in hiding then they were smuggled into Switzerland where they stayed till 1946. 

Back in Belgium they were adopted by an Uncle and Aunt.

 They came to Canada in the early 1950-s.
